The first time I heard RuPaul’s Supermodel of the World, I became a fan. After reading her books, and following her career for over 20 years, I know I wasn’t the only one.

Ru changed the way the world looked at drag, lip-synching, and gay culture on a whole. She was someone who seemed so unafraid. Although she can read someone, she tends to lean towards love and self love even more.

This piece was the first piece to get gallery space. It was selected by a jury to be a part of the annual West Michigan Art show at the Kalamazoo Institute of Art.
