Ellen DeGeneres was one of the first openly gay people on TV and it was very important to me. Growing up a gay boy in a small town, seeing someone who was like me, made me feel like I wasn’t alone. She wasn’t even that much like me, but at the time, it was all I could hope for.
Portia De Rossi is an incredible entertainer. She had made me laugh and inspired me. When she came out and then started dating Ellen, they became gay royalty.
